Orcus Packs
Lightweight, low bulk, and versatile, the Orcus has become a favourite pack amongst the Mountain Equipment climbing team and staff. It’s been used for everything from Grade 6 Ice in the Canadian Rockies and long rock routes in the Alps, to the daily commute in the UK.
The latest evolutions of the Orcus include a bigger 28 litre pack, better suited to light & fast alpine days, and a smaller 22 litre version, which makes a great multi-pitch pack or minimalist day pack for summer scrambles.

Selecting the right pack
Packs are one of the icons of mountaineering. A climber heading for the summit, their world on their back. There’s a huge difference between the various packs out there, though, and this guide will help work out what you do - and don’t - need.
