We are committed to Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) and upholding international standards within our supply chain and within our business practices. It is integral to our business that we have a positive impact on our supply chain partners, and we work collaboratively on providing a safe, fair and ethical working environment for those involved in making our products.

Our HRDD policy outlines our commitment and responsibility in respecting human rights and how our business practises evaluate, monitor and manage risk, including communication and remediation. Our partnership with the Fair Wear Foundation is central to our HRDD approach, and collaboration with other brands on assessment and improvement of working conditions is integral.

Mountain Equipment joined the Fair Wear Foundation in 2012. We collaborate on Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) with both Fair Wear and the factories involved in the production of our products.

The Fair Wear Foundation is an independent, non-profit organisation that collaborates with brands and producers to review working conditions in the garment industry worldwide. Our partnership provides guidance on a framework for our HRDD approach, aligning with the OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) guidelines for human rights due diligence throughout the industry. Mountain Equipment actively participates in human rights due diligence and contributes to both prevention and remediation efforts. Fair Wear’s approach focuses on Mountain Equipment’s internal processes, including purchasing practices, that directly impact working conditions.

Outdoor & Sports Company (OSC) Brand Performance Check (BPC)

Fair Wear assesses Mountain Equipment, as part of Outdoor & Sports Company (OSC), through an annual Brand Performance Check (BPC), which is a review of our management systems and practices in HRDD and our purchasing practices. This evaluation serves as an independent gauge of how each Fair Wear member brand, including Mountain Equipment within OSC, manages and oversees labour conditions within their supply chains.

In 2025, OSC received a 'Good' rating in its Brand Performance Check. A ‘Good’ rating is the most common score for Fair Wear Members. We actively address all recommendations and requirements from the BPC, emphasising a proactive and risk-based approach.
