How to Care for Your Polygiene Treated Gear

When you're out in the mountains, the last thing you want to worry about is washing your kit. We use Polygiene StayFresh™ across a number of our products so you can push yourself as hard as usual while still feeling fresh and comfortable. But how do you care for your Polygiene garments the right way?
What is Polygiene?
Polygiene StayFresh™ is a treatment embedded directly into the fabric of your clothing. It neutralises odour-causing bacteria, meaning your kit stays fresh longer and doesn’t need to be washed after every wear. Good news for your washing basket and how many resources you use.
Washing your clothes less often helps to:
- Extend garment life by reducing fabric wear
- Save water, energy, and detergent
- Cut down on microplastic release
- Free up more time to get out in the mountains
How to Care for Polygiene-Treated Clothing
1. Air It Out
- After a long day out, just hang your gear up overnight. The Polygiene tech keeps odours at bay, so you can wear it again, no washing needed.
2. Use Less Detergent
- When it is time to wash, go easy. A small amount of mild detergent is all you need.
3. Don’t use Fabric Softeners
- Fabric softeners can actually encourage odour buildup by leaving residues that bacteria love. Leave them out for cleaner, fresher gear.
4. Air Dry When You Can
- Tumble drying uses a lot of energy and can be tough on technical fabrics. Instead, hang-dry your gear.
Wear More, Wash Less
Polygiene makes it possible to wear more and wash less, without compromising on hygiene or comfort.
